Welcome to the Beginning!

Although it was founded in 2011, its roots go back much further, to the early 90s, when the founders Sandra and Vítor were working in the UK in addiction and behavioural treatment centres.

Over the following years, they gathered knowledge about these issues and examined the best approaches for each case and the priorities of a treatment centre.

They quickly realised that the dynamics and cohesion of all the teams involved in the treatment process and the patient’s stay were fundamental, as well as their own philosophy, which would lead patients to collaborate in creating an environment of change and recovery, which is essential for their progress and preparation for a healthy future.

This lead to the launch of The Heritage Counselling Clinic, in 2011, followed by Horizonte Recover, in 2018, the two primary care clinics that currently offer treatment for children 39 patients.

We also have 12 patients in our Halfway House, as a part of our second phase treatment.

This sustained growth would not had been possible or necessary if the demand for our services had not also been sustained by an ever-increasing demand from national and foreign clients who contact us, referred by former patients, doctors or their families.
